Abbotsford Connect 2011

This is an event that brings together government and community services to assist people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or living on the margins of our community.

Among the free services offered are public health care, mental health assessments, women’s advocacy, income tax assistance, eye care, foot care, clothing, haircuts, and more. There will be an awesome breakfast served, a full turkey lunch, and snacks available throughout the day.

Additionally, we require volunteers to assist with food preparation the day before, hosting and guiding our guests, assisting at the registration table, buffet line, coffee table, managing appointment lists for some of the services and other odd jobs. All that is required is a smile, non-judgmental attitude, willingness to interact with our guests and a pair of good walking shoes.
