Homelessness Action Week in Your Community: Made Possible by Community Homelessness Tables

Local coordination is key to effective responses to homelessness.

Local task forces, referred to as Community Homelessness Tables, work to address homelessness in the sub-regions of Metro Vancouver.  They are a forum for the homeless-serving agencies, business representatives, municipal governments, provincial government representatives, local citizens and public authorities operating in their communities and facilitate local leadership on homelessness issues.  They identify gaps in services and establish priorities, and keep their communities informed about the status of homelessness locally and opportunities to support solutions.

The Community Homelessness Tables are represented in the work of the Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness, and play an important role in the development and implementation of locally-sensitive homelessness solutions in Metro Vancouver.
